NOTES AND COMMENT from Steve
 - Please let us know what do you want to know about food production? In response to a growing interest in learning more about producing, as opposed to marketing, specialty foods, we have invited Virginia Tech Senior Laboratory Specialist Joell Eifert to give us a hand. So please continue to submit your production-related questions. Dr. Eifert's commentary will begin in the next issue of FE.

- Attention Farmers
- Selling produce at Farm Stands and Farmers Markets is only the first level in marketing value-added products. Your ability to sustain your farm operation will depend on the higher revenue potential from marketing retail-packaged food products. Ask your state department of agriculture to sponsor one of our Specialty Food Marketing Workshops.
